It is probable that this silver plated Spirit Heater with Stand was part of a larger set, probably all contained in a travel case.

As can be seen the triangular stand has a hinged disc to the middle which holds the heater in place for use. This stand folds to flat pack to quite a small size. The heater unscrews just below its widest point to re-fill it and has a hinged cap. It is likely that this heater and stand accompanied a pan or cup which would be used to heat a drink or shaving water etc. The disc is stamped Leuchars London Patent to one side. The quality fits in with the company who enjoyed a good reputation and were eventually taken over by Aspreys. Late 19th Century.
