As can be seen this brass pricket candlestick by Tanaka Hisashige folds very neatly to flat pack to a fraction of it size for use.

To pack, the drip pan lifts off the candle spike and the three feet, which are hinged together, fold flat against each other to make one. The graduated column is then folded on its three circular joints around the feet. The section of the foot is cut to appear both decorative and to allow the column, when folded, to follow its shape. The drip pan has a bar soldered to its underside which will lock it, when twisted, into the round cut out interior of the feet. An ingenious design and an interesting variant on the travel candlestick. Third Quarter 19th century.

Size for use is given.
