The brass bolts to the turned stretcher and uprights instantly indicates that this mahogany mirror was made for travel.
As can be seen, the mirror breaks down very simply and has a protective board to cover the glass during travel. When in use this board slides neatly into a recess to the back of the mirror. The cabinet making is good as is the choice of timber. A rare form of mirror. Early 19th century.
