A large mahogany Campaign Mirror.
This mirror follows a standard design used through most of the 19th century and into the 20th. The protective cover board board the looking glass folds back on itself to become a foot, allowing the mirror to stand at an angle for use.
Its quite large for this type of mirror with most being much smaller in size. Added to this it has no facility to hang it with the intention that it was only to be used as shown in our first photo.
To the middle of the top of the frame the wood is shaped to give a finger nail indent to easily lift the cover board. The shape and plain design suggests an early 20th century date.
