Spirit Hip Flask by James Dixon & Sons.
Spirit Hip Flask by James Dixon & Sons.
An Electro Plated Britannia Metal Spirit Flask by Dixon of Sheffield.
The glass flask has protective leather to the top half, cut to allow you to see the level of the contents, and a cup to the bottom. The cut has a gilt wash to the interior for a purer taste. The cap is cork lined and has a bayonet fitting to open on a quarter turn.
The underside of the cup is stamped with Dixon's trumpet logo, the initials JD & S, EPBM and a D. The trumpet logo is also stamped to the flask's neck with the company's initial to the opposite side, which is typical for Dixon.
This is a medium sized flask and is useful for a long journey or to share. Circa 1900.
