A good sized, plated Hip Flask by Dixon of Sheffield.
The glass flask has pigskin leather to protect its top half with a removable cup to protect the bottom. The top has a bayonet fitting to secure it and is marked to the neck with Dixon's Trumpet in Banner logo to one side and JD & S to the other. The cup has a gilt wash to the interior and the underside is marked with the company's initials, their logo and EP for electro plated. The flask's volume of 5/8 pint is also stamped.
Dixon were a large company and prolific in producing Hip Flasks, of which this is a nice, useable example. Early 20th Century.
