Rosewood Wragg Patent Travel Cutlery
Rosewood Wragg Patent Travel Cutlery
A set of W.H. Wragg campaign cutlery made of rosewood and steel.
The knife and fork tines slide alongside each other to be housed in the other's handle, for travel. The rosewood handles are square in section and bound in pewter straps. The steel knife blade is stamped W.H. Wragg Patentee. As can be seen on the photos, there is old deterioration to the steel of both the knife and fork. The number 1 is stamped to the rosewood on both the knife and fork to identify the pair if more than one set is owned. Mid 19th Century.
