Hip Flask by Goldsmiths & Silversmith Co.
82388
A silver plated and glass Spirit Flask with crocodile skin to the shoulders and top half, made by Goldsmith & Silversmiths Company.
This flask is engraved to the removable cup with the owner's details 'R. A. Arnold, Meopham Court, Kent'. The Arnold family were well established in Meopham and the initials could refer to Ralph. We have found little information on him although there was a Major R. A. Arnold.
The cap has a bayonet fitting and will open on a three quarters turn. The underside of the cup is marked with the maker's details of Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street with the model or size number 4. More can be read on the maker on this website. Late 19th Century.
