Made of silver plate, this Sandwich or Cake Tray by Aspreys folds neatly for travel.
When the nut to the side of the handle is released the higher, central tray will turn vertically to fit within the handle. The two bottom trays are hinged to the handle to fold to each side of the middle tray. The second photo illustrates the compactness of the piece when packed. It is possible that this tray was part of a picnic set and it can be considered a luxurious item. 'A&C' and 'Asprey London made in England 1028' is stamped to the underside of one tray. Circa 1920.
