This grained red leather slip case was for Calling or Business Cards and it would keep them contained and so protected when in your pocket.
The interior is lined in green silk and the case is tooled with a mark to the top and bottom of one side to ensure the top is fitted correctly. It will take cards that are sized 3 1/8 by 2 1/2 inches or smaller. Circa 1900.
