Anglo Indian Brass Bucket
83837
An Anglo Indian small, brass Campaign Bucket stamped Narang.
It is unusual for such buckets to be marked with a maker's stamp. This one is stamped Narang to both of the eyelet fittings for the swing handle. We have not been able to find out any information on the maker.
Such buckets get their name because they were widely used by the British army in India. A number of different workshops in the north of the country made them. Most tend to be bigger in size than this one and the last photos shows a second bucket which is closer to a standard size. It is for sale elsewhere on this website. Mid to late 19th Century.
The dimensions to the rim of the bucket are given.
