A brass compass with black painted metal protective cover.

The cover is fixed by a pin at the fob ring point and simply twists to reveal the compass and double up in use as a handle. The compass is marked with the 360 degrees and an arrow for north but none of the other principal points. The side of the case has a sliding lock to fix the needle.

The case has a glass bottom so the needle can be viewed from both sides but the degrees only from one. Early to mid 20th Century.
