This well made, three section mahogany mirror folds together to form a protective case, locked by a sprung catch. To open the mirror a brass button is pressed to release the catch and the mirror will then unfold on its piano hinges. The mirror was meant to either sit on a surface with the three looking glasses stood at right angles to each other or could be hung from the brass plate to the centre section which has a loop to take a cord.

A similar mirror can be seen in British Campaign Furniture by Brawer and they were also retailed by the Army & Navy Store. Late 19th century.
