This catalogue illustrates a good quality, small Georgian two part Naval Bureau, a Channel Islands Wardrobe, Campaign Chests by both Ross & Co. and Hill & Millard and a chest which has a Linen Press top half. There is a Roorkhee Chair with a head rest, a Paragon Chair and a pair of Square Back Dining Chairs by Ross, an Anglo Indian 3 Pieces Suite and a good Bergere. There is also a very good Four Poster Bed that is likely to have been made by Butler of Catherine Street.
There are good trunks represented with 2 owned by Captain Henderson and Lieut. Gen. Sir Colin Campbell and a leather Boot Trunk. Identifiable items made in Army Workshops are difficult to fin. A Stationery Box made by the 35th Royal Sussex Regt.
A number of different solutions to portable lighting are shown with an Insight Article on Folding Lanterns. The silver Brighton Buns shown are of a very good size and quality. The yew wood Buns, although of a far lesser value to the silver, are also of interest for their variation in design. There is information on the maker William Chapple and aside from Ross, the makers A&N CSL, Sherwood, Aston & Mander, Houghtons Ltd and York House are some of the makers represented.
