Small Case by The Bag Stores, Leicester
A very small leather Case with metal edge to the lip of the bottom section, retailed by The Bag Stores of Leicester.
The maker has stamped The Bag Stores, Market Place, Leicester to the side of the lid and fixed a label to the inside of the lid. The label gives a slightly fuller address of Market Place Corner and labels on other pieces of luggage are known stating that they were trunk makers and also based in Northampton.
The case has a brass lock, without its key, and domed studs to the back to allow it to stand with its handle up. The interior is lined in leather and the lid has both a stitched hinge and two riveted straps to hold it. The top is marked 'G.C. W. Phillips'. Early 20th Century.
