Leather Money Bag

Leather Money Bag

£245

A leather Money or Bullion Bag.

This bag was made with strength in mind from its handles that loop around the whole body of the bag to support the underside, to the good leather lining to the interior. The strength was needed to protect the contents which wold be coin or notes.

The square mouth has a metal frame under the leather to make a rigid opening and the interior has two pockets to one side. The underneath of the bag has five brass domed studs that act as feet to keep the base of the ground.

As with the majority of these bags, the key to the lock is missing. The brass lock still operates with a slide mechanism. A well made bag that can still be used. Circa 1900.
