An Electro Plated Britannia Metal Spirit Flask with black leather to the top half.

This small Hip Flask was made by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield, who were probably the most prolific of English makers in the 19th and early 20th Centuries.

The cap has a half twist bayonet fitting to easily open the flask. Its lined with cork to provide a seal. The cap is marked to the neck with JD&S to one side and Dixon's trumpet with banner logo to the other.

The removable drinking cup to the bottom half of the flask has various marks to its base. The size, 1/8 pint is given, along with Dixon's company initials and trumpet logo. EPBM and Made In England, along with U and 582A also marked.

This flask is a handy size to slip into a breast pocket. Early 20th Century.
