A steel, bone and pewter knife and fork set of Travel Cutlery by Rodgers.

This set is much smaller in size than those by fellow Sheffield maker W.H. Wragg who stamped 'Patentee' on his sets. It also differs in that it has bone scales encased by pewter as opposed to wood with pewter straps. We have seen other similar sets both English and German in manufacture.

Rodgers are probably the first name that comes to mind when discussing Sheffield cutlers and they have a long and well documented history stretching back to the early 18th century.

The small size means that they will easily slip into a pocket when travelling. Early to mid 19th Century.

Packed size is given.
