Letterbox from Finnemore

An oak Letterbox from Finnemore.
The letter box has a large, raised brass name plate for Finnemore to the top and a glass viewing window to the front. The posting slit to the top is rounded to each end and slightly larger. The letter box has strong hinges and an unnamed lock which retains its key.
The back of the box has 3 later holes which were used to screw it to a wall. It was common for hotels, clubs and houses to have letter boxes in the 19th and early 20th centuries where the mail was collected before taking to the post office.
We have been able to find out little about Finnemore, although there is a house by that name in Winslow, Buckingham. Circa 1900.
