Half Gallon Rum Funnel

Half Gallon Rum Funnel

Sold

A copper Half Gallon Funnel used by the Royal Navy to fill a Barricoe barrel with rum.

The upside down pyramidical shape below the bowl is typical of the Navy measures and meant that the funnel could be used without having to hold it. It is also stamped with the identification number of 52484 below the lip. This was the number used by the Royal Navy for their Half Gallon Funnels in the 1950's.

The Funnel is made of three parts; the bowl, pyramidical neck and seamed tube. It also has a hanging ring riveted below the turned lip of the funnel. Circa 1950.
