A colonial teak low armchair.
The clue as to the use of this teak chair is its low seat height. Further inspection reveals that it originally had fittings to the sides to take bearing struts. It has good large brass castors and a rush seat. The joints are pegged and this with one or two other feature suggests it is colonial in origin. The design is typical of the mid to late 18th century.
