A fully illustrated, colour catalogue of 97 items of campaign furniture, travel equipment and related artwork over 60 pages.
This catalogue has 12 examples of interesting campaign chests, including two likely to have been made in the same workshop in Goa, India. We also compare and contrast four early chests that illustrate the development of the campaign chest from a piece of domestic furniture to that which would be suitable for travel.
A number of different makers are featured from those that made trunks and those that made campaign furniture to those that retailed luxury goods. A good number of earlier Georgian pieces of travel furniture are also represented in the catalogue.
