Travel Washing Line

Travel Washing Line

Sold

A faux crocodile leather case containing a Travel Washing Line.

The interior of the case has a full width pocket to the front with three pockets behind. The two side back pockets each contain three faux tortoiseshell celluloid pegs with a pair of pins stuck into a cork to the centre. To the front pocket is a flat faux tortoiseshell spindle with a string washing line wrapped around.

Although the washing line was not made to hang heavy clothing it would have been very useful to the traveller to dry smaller items. A few different companies made similar Washing Line sets to this example. Vickery are known to have made them but this case is unnamed. Circa 1930.

Case size is given.
