Leather Business Card Case

Leather Business Card Case

£45

A small leather Business Card Case., Inscribed to interior with date of 1850.

The case is made in two parts with the top fitting over an inner sleeve to the case. Both sections are stamped with a flower head logo to ensure the top is put back on the correct way. The case is decorated with cross hatched lines rolled to the leather and was made to only take a few cards at a time. The card size it will hold can be no larger than 7.5 by 4.1 cm.

The inner sleeve of the case is hand marked in ink with a name and the date 1850. The name is difficult to decipher but might be JBNS Cartal, Mrs Carlal or something similar.

The small size of this Business Card Case makes it easy to slip into a pocket but of course, today, the cards to use with it would probably need to be a bespoke size. Circa 1850.
