George VI Royal Attaché Case
George VI Royal Attaché Case
82195
A black leather George VI Royal Attaché Case.
The case is made of leather that has been rolled to give it a grained effect. It has a fish tail handle and a gusset to the sides to allow for expansion of the interior. The case also has two flaps to prevent rain etc. coming in through the sides on to the contents. There are two short belt straps and a slide lock which has lost its key. The case has George VI's royal cipher below the lock.
Prince Albert ascended to the throne in 1936 taking the title of King George VI, after his elder brother Edward VIII abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. It is likely that this case would have been used by one of his secretaries or a civil servant etc. Mid 20th Century.
