A copper 1/2 gill Round Grog Measure.
The Round Measure was mostly used for measuring the watered down rum or grog for distribution to the different sailor's messes on board ship.
This is the smallest size measure out of eight that were used. It has a worn, illegible proofing mark that might be GR with a 6. It's stamped with its volume to the front. The handle is riveted on and has some dents through use. Early 20th Century.
