An ebony model of a Ship's Cannon on a later carriage.
The cannon barrel has a four stage taper with a touch hole. The naval carriage was recently made for display and it is likely that the cannon was barrel was originally simply as a model without carriage.
The carriage is ebonized pine has been well made with metal fittings and a fixed wedge to show how the barrel would have been elevated. Mid 19th Century.
