A mahogany Naval Chair with drop in seat.
This chair has a simple incised line moulding and a slightly rounded top rail to the back. Added to this the back legs are slightly splayed. The chair is stamped with a V to the inside of the back, seat rail and this would suggest that it was probably made as a part of a set of 6 or more. Third to last quarter 18th century.
