A George III mahogany Campaign Sofa that stands on 8 tapered square legs on castors.
The back and arms are removable to make it easier to transport the sofa. The bottom of the back has short iron locating lugs and the top of the back, to either end, fixes to the sides by a brass bolt. In turn the 2 sides each fix to the seat of the sofa by a pair of large iron bolts with a large hole to receive a turning rod to the head. The sofa is a good date for a piece of antique campaign furniture. However, for modern use, when set up, it is as strong as it domestic equivalent. Circa 1800.
