Campaign Chest Coffee Table

Campaign Chest Coffee Table

Reference

The top half of a mahogany Campaign Chest, now separated from its bottom section.

This would originally have been part of a military chest but at some stage in its history the base section has parted company or perhaps been damaged beyond use. The four lugs holes to the underside of the chest clearly indicate that it was meant to sit on top of another section. The top section does make quite a practical coffee table or it could be used at the end of a bed. Either use gives a good surface and extra storage.

The chest is brass bound and has flush brass handles. The drawer linings are oak with quadrant mouldings to the interior corners.

Although no longer able to stand as tall as it was once meant to, this part chest is still a very practical and useful piece of furniture. Late 19th Century.

The chair is sold separately and is shown elsewhere on this website.
