This mahogany travelling mirror works neatly, with its protective box forming a stand.

The box lid is split in the middle and opens to reveal a looking glass with moulded frame. The looking glass can be removed and hung by its small brass ball ring or it can be stood in its box. This is done by slotting the brass pin on either side of the frame into a rebate on each inside edge of the box. The back of the mirror has five steps cut into the back of the frame and when one half of the box lid is lifted up it will rest against the desired step, supporting the mirror at the chosen angle. Third quarter 19th century.

Size closed is given.
