Large Leather Cordite
Large Leather Cordite
82341
A wider than standard leather Cordite Carrier.
The interior of this Cordite bucket is lined with canvas and at some stage, somebody has had a tin liner made for it so it can be used as a stick or umbrella stand. Originally it would have had a lid, with the cut strap, that held it, visible to the back of the Carrier. The leather carrying handle has a very feint stamp that appears to say A. Adams, 36 Carnaby Street, London.
A large number of these cordites were cut down to make 2 waste paper sized bucket, so it is good to final one in its original size. Early 20th Century.
