A carved and stained bone Travel Chess Set.
The pieces are made with pegs to hold them in place on the card playing board and one side are stained red which has worn over time. To the side of the board is piece of beech wood to put the taken pieces during the case. The boxed case has a lid enabling the game to be stopped part way through and recommenced when convenient. There is no evidence of any maker or retailer's name. Early 20th Century.
