Pair of Cased John Pound Flasks
Pair of Cased John Pound Flasks
82697
A pair of cut glass travel flasks or decanters in a leather case by John Pound.
The two tall glass decanters each have a plated cup with screw on lids and cork stoppers below. The cups have a gilt wash. The glass is moulded and cut with the rounded shoulders giving a tight fit to the cups. The leather case has a divider to the middle to prevent the flasks damaging each other during travel.
'John Pound 268-270 Oxford St. W' is stamped in worn gilt to the leather of the case and is covered by the lid when closed. John Pound were important London makers of luggage and campaign furniture. Most flasks of this shape and size were sold as singles with the doubles harder to find. Circa 1915.
