An oak Stationery Box by Briggs of 27 Piccadilly, London with label to the back of the inside of the lid.
The box has an angled top to give it a wedge shape and a drawer to the front that can only be opened on the removal of a long pin from the main compartment. The box interior has 10 different sized compartments of various heights to take papers and envelopes etc. The drawer has a divided section to one side with lift of lid that covers an area fitted to take inkwells. The shield shaped brass plate to the top is engraved with the initials A.M.W.
