A very small leather Collar Box.
It is probable that this Collar Box was made for use by a child as the diameter is approximately 2 1/2 inches smaller than a standard collar box.
It's well made, with good stitching and the typical securing belt fixed to the back and buckling to the front. The interior is lined in red.
Collar Boxes are quite useful for storage and the particularly small size of this example adds a charm to it. Circa 1900.
