This canopied Four Poster Portable Bed is made of brass and iron.
Although not named many companies claimed patents on Officer's beds and actively promoted themselves on the superiority of their work. This bed is very sturdy but as can be seen packs down easily for travel. The eight basic sections of the rails and posts join by means of dovetail joints, with the supports and canopy pieces either bolting in place or simply slotting in. Mid 19th century.
