This mahogany Sideboard has a secretaire drawer to the centre to give it a dual purpose.
The 2 pedestals are fitted with drawers, decorated with marbleized paper, to the top with a cupboard space below and certainly would provide a lot of storage in an Officer's Mess tent for the regimental silver. It is fairly large for a piece of campaign furniture and although it breaks down fairly comprehensibly it can be considered unusual. Early to mid 19th century.
