A small sized walnut Buffet made to dismantle.
We have had a few similar Buffets in the past but all but one have been much wider in size. The shelves are all cut with an angular moulding and the turned columns have a good shape. The top shelf has as a cresting rail to the back. The castors are each marked Copes Patent. The Buffet dismantles as you would expect. When turned on its side or top, the four legs unscrew on wooden threads. The bottom shelf can then be removed and then the next four columns and so on.
This is a useful piece of furniture whether needed to dismantle for portability or not. They were often called Dinner Wagons for their practicality in the dining room but offer good shelf storage space wherever it is used. Circa 1880.
