A set of 3 hand coloured engravings of Cavalry Officers published by Daniel Ash of London.

The prints show a 9th Lancer, a 12th Lancer and a 15th Hussar They were published between February and June 1826 and were part of a larger series, with prints of a 4th Dragoon Guard and a 11th Light Dragoon also known.

Although drawn in a cartoon style, the prints are fairly violent. The 9th Lancer is running his lance through the enemy's stomach; the 12th Lancer's horse is standing proudly over the vanquished enemy; the 15th Hussar has sliced the hand off one foe and cut the face of another whilst his horse also stands over a third; the 17th Light Dragoon has decapitated his opponent whose horse has also fallen.

The regiment's name is shown to the bottom of each print, below the publisher's details of 'Pub. as the act directs, 1st Feb. 1826, by D. Ash, 27 Fetter Lane, London.' The 15th Hussar is dated 20th May, the 9th Lancer is dated 51st May (presumably this a typo and the intended date was the 21st) and the 12th Lancer was published on the 21st June.

These engravings were originally offered uncoloured for "Price ½ Plain" each. Dated 1826.
