The high lip to the front of the bottom of this small mahogany Corner Shelf suggests that it was meant for use on board ship, with the lip holding the contents in rough seas. The back is shaped to the top and a good cut of mahogany has been used. The corner cupboard has a simplicity which is attractive. Mid 19th Century.
