A Campaign Serving Table with two drawers and removable legs.

The height of this mahogany campaign table is greater than most, which suggests it was made to be used as a Serving table. It could be stood at or perhaps used with a high stool or chair and its multi purpose would fit in well with the ethos of campaign furniture and the Victorians penchant for standing at tables to work. It is an attractive feature. The rest of the dimensions are of a practical size and make this a useful side table. The top has a slight bowed shape to the front and a wide but shallow simple moulding to the edge. The two drawers are plain to the interior. The bold turned and tapered legs are fitted with wooden screw threads and are easily removed. Circa 1840.
