Painted Model of a Ship's Hull

Painted Model of a Ship's Hull

Sold

A painted wooden model of the ship the Red Witch.

This is likely to be a ship builder's model and there is evidence that it originally had three masts and further detail which has long since parted company with the hull. The ship has an ebonised wooded base to sit on. The name 'Red Witch' is painted to one side of the ship.

Although it is almost naïve in its make, it is very decorative and sits well on top of a piece of furniture. Late 19th Century.
