Antique Cabin Table
Antique Cabin Table
81879
A small sized, colonial teak Cabin Table standing on turned legs.
The 3 drawers have skeletal campaign handles and decorative escutcheons with a carved cock bead line to their edge. The sides and back of the table are panelled. The top has 2 flaps to extend its width in the same manner as a Pembroke Table. At some stage of its life, one flap has been reduced by 2 inches in size. The reduction was made to the inside edge as opposed to the outside which is carved with a double reed. Cabin Tables are a useful piece of furniture providing both a surface and storage for practicality in a confined space. The size of this one is smaller than most we have seen. Mid 19th Century.
