A mahogany, brass bound Campaign Chest with two short drawers over three long.

The chest has a well figured mahogany board to the top and is brass bound. The drawer linings are made of ash. As you would expect, the chest is made in two parts and has removable screw on feet which are replaced. The brass campaign handles are made to sit slightly proud of the drawer fronts and the bails have a small groove to their centre to make it easier to hold them to lift.

This is a standard campaign chest with no airs or graces but stands well and is a good example of its type. Circa 1875.
