Charles Wheeldon & Sons

Charles Wheeldon & Sons are noted as early as 1883 in Slater's Directory as Bobbin & Skewer Turners at Carrington Road Bobbin Works, Stockport.

They are known for their patent Music Stand which seems to have been a success. They took it to the Chicago Exhibition of 1893, describing it as a 'Patent adjustable music stand with screwless holder and portable rail arrangement for the use of bands'. They made the stand in a variety of woods with mahogany and beech also known to have been used. They also made a double-sided version for 2 musicians to use.
