Low Camp Table

Low Camp Table

Although reminiscent of the larger standard Camp Table with Butler's Tray, this low mahogany table is of very uncommon form.

It's size is such that it is low enough to set besides a chair. It also doubles in size by means of a folding leaf with a screw in leg rather than a single leaf with a removable tray. The X frame legs are wider at their joint for strength but this also makes for a subtle, pleasing shape. The bottom leaf has a brass twist catch to lock it to the frame when in use.
Circa 1800.
