Salesman's Sample Campaign Table
Salesman's Sample Campaign Table
The label to the underside of this miniature folding mahogany table clearly shows that it was made as a salesman's sample.
Originally, the maker's name Morant & Co. had been purposely covered and the label gives the timbers it was available in (mahogany, oak or walnut), the full size of 3 foot 6 inches square and the price of £ 9 15 shillings. The table has an interesting catch which will lock the legs in both the open and folded position. The table has a good turned leg and a moulded edge to the top. An interesting and rare piece. The antique period is late 19th century.
