A low, oval American walnut Coaching Table.
The table has a brass twist catch to the underside of the top to lock its two halves together for use. The top has a slight warp to it but this doesn't effect its use and in a way is pleasing to look at.
The tenons to the tops of the legs, to fit them to the bar hinged to each half of the top, have been re-glued at some point.
The top is a good colour with historic wear and marks. The shape and size of the top, along with its height, makes this table stand out from most others. Mid to late 19th Century.
