A low walnut Coaching Table.
The table folds in the same manner as a standard coaching table from the 19th century. That is to say that the two piece top is hinged to the middle so that they will lift up from the two short sides to meet each. This action also causes the X frame legs to fold. To prevent it from doing this whilst in use, there is a twist bar to the underside of the top to lock it in place. It also gives some support to the top when set up.
The leg has a pleasing 'S' shape and the table is a practical piece of furniture which can be set up or folded quickly. Early to mid 20th Century.
